The Arkansas Department of Career Education, in partnership with The Centers for Quality Teaching and Learning, is offering an open registration for The New and Emerging Teacher Institute for Career & Technical Education teachers. This 90-hour curriculum, delivered in three sessions over 14 days beginning July 30, 2012 supports new (within their first three years) and lateral entry teachers as they develop effective teaching practices and prepare to deliver instruction. During these interactive sessions, teachers will develop their pedagogical skills and elements they need to understand for their students to be successful. Participants will explore current research and educational trends, and experience instruction that models best practices. As they engage in collaborative activities and discussions, they will begin to cultivate the skills and dispositions essential for success in the education profession. Tuition for the 90-hour curriculum is $2,100. Classes will be held at the Arkansas Technical University Career Center in Russellville.
