Digital Media is designed to develop students' knowledge and skill and prepare them to obtain up to five industry-recognized certifications. The Arkansas Frameworks link on the right side of this page show alignment with the five certifications as well as to the current Digital Communications framework. The Adobe Certified Associate certifications are in the areas of creative digital design, including graphic design, animation development, audio and video production, and web design. Students are offered the opportunity to gain experience working with industry-standard software and technology in order to succeed in the digital workplace.
Every year as technologies and software advances in the industry, ExplorNet updates and maintains the course materials to reflect what students will experience when they enter the workforce.
Fees: The annual school subscription fee of $595.00 is for the first teacher and $295.00 for each additional teacher in the school. This subscription includes access to the Moodle system, updated curriculum, teacher and student resources, classroom assessments, the PLC, class activities, as well as information on changes to the certification requirements that may occur. Most teachers say this is a very inexpensive replacement for textbooks that quickly become out of date.
All of the software required to teach this course can be mastered during this training. In addition to learning curriculum and instruction, they will also learn to use our accompanying Moodle system effectively in their classroom. Moodle provides access to all teaching resources as well as student resources which negates the need for expensive textbooks for each student, or classroom set.
Students who participate in the Digital Media course offerings will learn the skill and knowledge to pass up to six industry-recognized certification exams. These certifications provide recognition for their efforts in completing the course, motivation to explore possible career paths in the industry, and official documentation that students can use to be accepted into collegiate programs or land an interview with prospective employers.
