District Honored for Raising Achievement

One of QTL’s first district partners has been Recognized for Raising Achievement of Economically Disadvantaged Students.  Lee County Schools is being honored by the Virginia Board of Education and deemed “Distinguished Title I School Division” for the school year ending 2009.  Lee County is one of seven districts receiving the honor for exceeding NCLB objectives in reading and math for two consecutive years.  In addition, three Lee County Schools, Elydale Elementary, Ewing and St. Charles Elementary are recognized for maintaining full state accreditation under the commonwealth’s Standards of Learning program for two consecutive years, meeting NCLB benchmarks in reading and mathematics and having average test scores in both subjects at the 60th percentile or higher.

The Centers for Quality Teaching and Learning congratulates Lee County Public Schools for maintaining excellence in Quality Education.
