Adobe Academy Courses
The Adobe Academy curriculum supports teachers as they develop student understanding and skills to prepare students to earn the industry-recognized Adobe ACA certifications in five areas.  Students gain experience working with industry-standard software and technology providing a strong base that leads to success in the digital workplace. Adobe Academy is structured into three courses aligned to the North Carolina blueprints.

Adobe Visual Design

Students learn design and visual communication principles while creating content in  Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Course objectives include design principles, project management, and digital media development using the Adobe software.  The content prepares the students for the ACA certifications.  

Adobe Digital Video

Whether producing for TV, promotional videos, movies, social media or just having fun, students in this course learn the concepts of video production from planning and editing to the final video product.   Meanwhile, students are also preparing to earn the ACA Adobe Premiere Pro certification.

Adobe Digital Design

Students learn the concepts and processes of designing a web site using Adobe's Dreamweaver software.  Course objectives include web design principles, project management, and web development process.The ACA Dreamweaver certification provides students with a viable tool to demonstrate their abilities to prospective employers.

The Adobe Academy courses are available through a subscription paid each year or in a multi-year option.

Subscription includes all resources for all three Adobe Academy courses per teacher per school.  NO PER STUDENT FEE! 
​Subscription valid July 15 - June 15 each year.

Course resources are created by a team of teachers and industry experts and are updated annually. Resources include:
  • PowerPoints to introduce key terms and concepts for each objective
  • Two-column note-taking guides for each PowerPoint
  • Key terms and definitions for each objective
  • Student activities sheet with suggested activities, links, videos and accompanying documents
  • Lesson plan guides
  • Test question bank
  • Best practice strategy recommendations
  • Aligned to industry certification tests

Access to course resources available in two ways:

1. Blended learning environment using Moodle or Canvas includes:
  • ​Pre-built courses with all resources as listed above
  • Pre-built unit assessments for review or tests
  • Quizlet/crossword/word games for vocabulary review
  • Customizable; teachers can add or remove documents, links, videos, etc.
  • Secure log-in
  • Teacher Resources Moodle for access to resources, sharing ideas, and asking and receiving help
  • Ongoing support

  • If you use an alternative learning management system such as Google Classroom or no online system at all, we will provide all resource documents in a downloadable format

Adobe Academy Training

QTL/ExplorNet provides teacher training annually for all of our course offerings.  Participants will be provided in-depth training in the Adobe software, curriculum options, resources and best-practice strategies for teaching the courses. If you have a new teacher who is in need of professional development to improve their Adobe technical skills and course teaching skills then sign them up!
